My Dear Sisters!
I am so excited about what the Lord is doing and desires to do through the women’s ministry. Our ministry to women plays an integral role in the life of our church and community. The Daughters of Destiny Women’s Ministry exists to inspire, equip, and encourage women to know God personally; to discover and use their gifts and talents to love and serve others; and to fully reflect the beauty of Christ in the church and in the world.
Our theme for 2010 is - Spirit Led Women: Standing… Stepping… Walking by Faith. Spirit Led Women are women who live and are led by faith and not by sight. And faith is not about us. It is about God in us. Faith trusts not in the promises of God, but in the God who promises. Faith does not seek the blessings of God, but the God who blesses. Together, we will embark upon a journey of pursuing and deepening our walk with God.
Many programs have been designed to provide women with opportunities to deepen your walk with God through fellowship, nurturing, equipping, evangelism, and discipleship. We will host some of the successful programs we experienced in 2009, namely our Women’s Conference at Chateau Élan Winery & Resort in Braselton, GA, the “For Sister Only” quarterly gatherings, and our Women’s Prayer Breakfast. Additionally, we will partner with local agencies to service women in shelters, prison and those going through other transitions in life. We will also present topical studies that target women’s issues and concerns and begin Sisters4Sisters mentoring for girls in our church and schools.
The women’s ministry has an exciting calendar of events planned and offers a wide variety of opportunities for women of all ages. I encourage each sister to reach out and invite other sisters to participate in these life changing experiences. You are sure to be inspired by the Word, the worship, the fellowship, and the fun.
